This book, which is a translation from Ottoman Turkish to modern Turkish, was prepared in the years 1909-1910 in conjunction with the revival of the "Mehter Band" or "Mehter Music," which was abolished along with the Janissary Corps in 1826, and was able to play again in 1911. After being reestablished through the efforts of Celal Esad Arseven and the Military Museum Director Ahmet Muhtar Pasha, the Mehter Band played for the first time in the courtyard of the Topkapi Palace in 1914. Continuing its existence until the Republic, the Mehter Band was reestablished under the auspices of the General Staff Presidency in 1953 after detailed research within the Military Museum, following its dissolution due to reminding of the Ottoman era. The current Mehter Band is affiliated with the General Staff Presidency and performs the nevbet (traditional military music performance) every day at the Military Museum, except for Mondays and Tuesdays.
